The ramp is a wild herb found throughout northeastern United States and celebrated in Appalachia for decades. Ramps flourish in leafy mulch in hardwood forests. Their leaves appear briefly in spring providing much needed minerals and vitamins to foragers and appreciators alike. Their strong garlic and onion flavor is rich, earthy, lingering and not like anything else.

Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt
Sun, 03/13/2016 to Sun, 06/12/2016

Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt brings 3,000 years of ancient history to life through some of the finest objects from the vast Egyptian holdings of the British Museum, from monumental sculpture to exquisite jewelry, supplemented by key works from the Cleveland collection. While many objects here were created to project a regal image of pharaoh, the story that emerges through this exhibition is also one of a country divided by civil war, conquered by foreign powers, or ruled by competing kings. These ancient rulers themselves were not always male, or even Egyptian, but they shared in the immense challenges of ruling one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever seen.

Rail Fanning Day - Painesville Depot

Come and enjoy a day of watching trains at the historic Painesville Depot on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Spend the day visiting our depot and see the artifacts of the glory days of railroading. The depot opened in 1893 for the LakeShore and Michigan Southern Railroad. The NYC was formed in 1914 and consolidated the LS&M. The station was closed in 1971 when passenger service was stop.

Rail Fanning is the hobby of taking pictures of real trains as they are running on the tracks. Many times you get to see very rare and unusual trains and engines. Some people post them on the web and the train is tracked across the country.

You might be lucky and take pictures of a real John Deere Train, MOW (Maintenance of Right of Way) Trains or a Dept of Defense train.

The station is on what is now the CSX water front main line and has about 4 trains per hour pass by it. So bring your camera and chair and enjoy the day.

NORM was formally incorporated on February 20, 1976 as a not-for-profit educational and historical organization. Trolley Museum Walking Tours
May 7, 14, 21, 28, 10am to 4pm
The Northern Ohio Railway Museum is open Saturdays through October. See streetcars, interurbans and rapid transit equipment from Ohio, 1895 to 1970 on a walking tour, including a visit to the restoration shop. Free for all ages and groups; free will donation accepted.

On two miles of the historic Cleveland Southwestern Railway, the museum is working to attain its goals to collect, preserve, restore, display and operate streetcars and other railway equipment for the education of the public. The Museum can trace its roots back to 1965 when three railfans, Anson W. (Red) Bennett, Walter B. Stoner, Jr. and Lee D. Smith, wanted to acquire and restore a caboose. NORM was formally incorporated on February 20, 1976 as a not-for-profit educational and historical organization. In June of the following year NORM purchased two miles of former Cleveland, Southwestern and Columbus right-of-way south of Chippewa Lake which had been abandoned in 1932. Over the next few years an assortment of interurban cars and other equipment started to arrive.

The Museum is located at 5515 Buffham Road, Seville, Ohio 44273, 330.769.5501, www.northernohiorailwaymuseum.org.

OPERATION FINALE: The Capture & Trial of Adolf Eichman
February 19 - June 12, 2016
The Nazi responsible for the transport of millions of innocent people to death camps might well have lived out his days in Argentina as "Ricardo Klement" if fate, a Holocaust survivor and Israel's foreign intelligence service hadn't intervened. A multimedia exhibition produced by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in collaboration with The Mossad – Israeli Secret Intelligence Service and Beit Hatfutsot – The Museum of the Jewish People, Tel Aviv, featuring recently declassified artifacts never before seen outside of Israel reveals the secret history behind the capture, extradition and trial of one of the world's most notorious escaped war criminals.

THE WALL THAT HEALSsubs tantial touring exhibition making Geauga debut this September

Geauga Park District and Geauga Veterans' Services Commission are pleased to announce that a national touring exhibition called The Wall That Heals will visit Geauga County Fairgrounds September 8 through 11.

The Wall That Heals was created by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) to travel to communities across the United States. The exhibit features a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., approximately 250 feet in length, chevron-shaped and complete with the 58,249 names of those killed or missing in action from the conflict. Accompanying the wall is also a mobile Education Center telling the story of the Vietnam War era and the Memorial.

Visitors will be welcome at The Wall That Heals free of charge 24-7 during the exhibition. Additionally, groups are invited to schedule visit to The Wall That Heals to gain a heightened awareness of the impact and legacy of the war, as well as leadership, citizenship and character.

All the Way
Written by Robert Schenkkan
Sept 17-Oct 9, 2016 • Allen Theatre

The clock is ticking. The November election looms. "Accidental President" Lyndon B. Johnson's window is closing to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and win the American people over to the side of momentous social change. But at what cost? A mirror of our times, All the Way reflects the power of one person and one vote to transform our country.

Sex with Strangers
Written by Laura Eason
Oct 22-Nov 13, 2016 • Outcalt Theatre

Olivia is an obscure novelist on the cusp of 40; Ethan is a famous blogger - and 28. When these two strangers collide at a remote B&B, a steamy romance erupts. Passion, intellect and secret agendas clash in Sex with Strangers. This smart, tantalizing take on modern love flirts with the ever-blurring line between public and private in our digital age.

Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
Written by Ken Ludwig
Jan 21-Feb 12, 2017 • Allen Theatre

The hunting and haunting of the heir to the Baskerville fortune proves the most puzzling—and dangerous!—case in the illustrious careers of Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson. Cleveland favorite Ken Ludwig is back with his madcap adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic mystery, transforming The Hound of the Baskervilles into an all-out comedic theatrical adventure. Full of humor, horror, and plenty of stage magic, five actors play nearly 40 roles in this kooky and spooky caper that will have you howling with laughter.

How I Learned to Drive
Written by Paula Vogel
March 4-26, 2017 • Allen Theatre

Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride. Li'l Bit takes us on a no holds barred trip back in time to her adolescence in 1960s Maryland and her complicated relationship with an older man. A deeply compassionate look at how we are shaped by the people who hurt us, How I Learned to Drive masterfully veers in and out of personal memory and deftly traverses comedy, drama and farce. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley steers Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning contemporary masterpiece.

Between Riverside and Crazy
Written by Stephen Adly Guirgis
April 1-23, 2017 • Outcalt Theatre

Ex-cop Walter "Pops" Washington is NOT one to let things go. NOT the memory of his recently deceased wife. NOT the racially-charged lawsuit he filed years ago against the NYPD. And most definitely NOT the impressive rent-controlled apartment he shares with his parolee son and ragtag surrogate family. But, eviction notices and ultimatums are piling up, and Pops is caught between losing his honor and losing his home. Bringing together the poetic and the profane, this 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner is an exuberant and darkly comic tale of truth, family, and pride.

Freaky Friday, a new musical comedy based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and hit Disney films, is a hilarious, contemporary update of an American classic in which a mother and daughter really see what it is to be a family and experience first-hand each other's lives, if only for a day.

Single show tickets go on sale in August, 2016. Call 216-241-6000 or visit clevelandplayhouse.com for more information.
