YOUNG CHILDREN'S EVENT COMING TO MEDINA SQUARE

Medina, Ohio: On Saturday, September 3rd, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Medina Farmers Market and its 2016 sponsor, PNC Bank, will host the PNC "Learning is All Around Me!" Mobile Learning Adventure (MLA). All of the free activities will be in the bright orange tents on Broadway and are geared for children from ages 2 to 5. The MLA is a traveling exhibit that provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the importance of early childhood education while they engage in fun activities with their children. "We are very pleased with our PNC partnership and especially excited that they have selected our community as one of the locations for this interactive educational opportunity," stated Nancy Romans, the Medina Farmers Market Manager. "We are extending the market hours so that everyone can take advantage of this event," she added. As part of PNC Grow Up Great, a $350 million, multi-year, bilingual initiative that began in 2004 to help prepare young children for success in school and life, the MLA includes the "When I Grow Up" station, where kids dress up as different professionals and have their picture superimposed on an appropriate background. This is just one of five adventure stations. Others include Word of the Day, Touch Screen Kiosks, Craft Area, Making Choices Activity Board, and a Giveaway Table where parents and caregivers can take home activity books and learning kits that demonstrate how to take everyday moments and turn them into learning opportunities. For additional information, call the Medina Farmers Market office at 330.722.6186.

All the Way
Written by Robert Schenkkan
Sept 17-Oct 9, 2016 • Allen Theatre

The clock is ticking. The November election looms. "Accidental President" Lyndon B. Johnson's window is closing to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and win the American people over to the side of momentous social change. But at what cost? Backroom deals and showdowns between the infamous and the influential take center stage in this absorbing Tony Award-winning drama. A mirror of our times, All the Way reflects the power of one person and one vote to transform our country.

Single show tickets go on sale in August. Call 216-241-6000 or visit clevelandplayhouse.com for more information.

Bocce players are encouraged to join one of the tournaments during the day. Bocce Ball teams are made up of two people and a cash donation will be charged for entry. Participants can sign up the day of the festival, before the tournaments begin. Sign up is first come first serve, with a total of eight teams per tournament. Live music will be performed throughout the day with different bands located at The Villa Grande, The Piazza and a live DJ in the Pavilion with games and dancing. Many activities require cash only for participation; Gervasi does not have an ATM on property. Visit gervasivineyard.com/events for more details regarding the event.

United Way of Greater Stark County believes in creating long-lasting change in three important impact areas of focus: Education, Income & Health. The agency collaborates, convenes, and partners to support programs and initiatives that break the cycle of poverty and promote a healthy community where kids are successful from kindergarten through graduation to a career, and families have the tools, skills, and support they need to become financially independent.

HERE COME THE MUMMIES

Friday, September 30, 2016 at 8:00pm
Here Come the Mummies is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5000 year-old Egyptian Mummies with a one-track mind. Their "Terrifying Funk from Beyond the Grave" is sure to get you into them (and possibly vice versa).

Some say they were cursed after deflowering a great Pharaoh's daughter. Others claim they are reincarnated Grammy-Winning studio musicians. Regardless, HCTM's mysterious personas, cunning song-craft, and unrelenting live show will bend your brain, and melt your face. Get ready, for Here Come The Mummies.

All the Way
Written by Robert Schenkkan
Sept 17-Oct 9, 2016 • Allen Theatre

The clock is ticking. The November election looms. "Accidental President" Lyndon B. Johnson's window is closing to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and win the American people over to the side of momentous social change. But at what cost? Backroom deals and showdowns between the infamous and the influential take center stage in this absorbing Tony Award-winning drama. A mirror of our times, All the Way reflects the power of one person and one vote to transform our country.

Olivia is an obscure novelist on the cusp of 40; Ethan is a famous blogger - and 28. When these two strangers collide at a remote B&B, a steamy romance erupts. Passion, intellect and secret agendas clash in Sex with Strangers. This smart, tantalizing take on modern love flirts with the ever-blurring line between public and private in our digital age.

Sex with Strangers
Written by Laura Eason
Oct 22-Nov 13, 2016 • Outcalt Theatre

Olivia is an obscure novelist on the cusp of 40; Ethan is a famous blogger - and 28. When these two strangers collide at a remote B&B, a steamy romance erupts. Passion, intellect and secret agendas clash in Sex with Strangers. This smart, tantalizing take on modern love flirts with the ever-blurring line between public and private in our digital age.

How I Learned to Drive
Written by Paula Vogel
March 4-26, 2017 • Allen Theatre

Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride. Li'l Bit takes us on a no holds barred trip back in time to her adolescence in 1960s Maryland and her complicated relationship with an older man. A deeply compassionate look at how we are shaped by the people who hurt us, How I Learned to Drive masterfully veers in and out of personal memory and deftly traverses comedy, drama and farce. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley steers Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning contemporary masterpiece.

Between Riverside and Crazy
Written by Stephen Adly Guirgis
April 1-23, 2017 • Outcalt Theatre

Ex-cop Walter "Pops" Washington is NOT one to let things go. NOT the memory of his recently deceased wife. NOT the racially-charged lawsuit he filed years ago against the NYPD. And most definitely NOT the impressive rent-controlled apartment he shares with his parolee son and ragtag surrogate family. But, eviction notices and ultimatums are piling up, and Pops is caught between losing his honor and losing his home. Bringing together the poetic and the profane, this 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner is an exuberant and darkly comic tale of truth, family, and pride.
