A CHRISTMAS STORY HOUSE MARKS THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF

“A Christmas Story” 25th Anniversary Celebration & Convention to take place
Nov. 28-29

The beloved holiday classic and family-favorite film “A Christmas Story” celebrates its 25th anniversary this November. To mark this special milestone, A Christmas Story House & Museum presents “A Christmas Story” 25th Anniversary Celebration & Convention on Nov. 28-29 (Thanksgiving weekend) in Cleveland. The event features a reunion of actors from the movie.

Brian Jones, owner of A Christmas Story House, encourages all fans to come to this quarter-century celebration since future conventions may not occur on an annual basis. “After four years of consecutive conventions, A Christmas Story House & Museum is going to take a couple years break from hosting ‘A Christmas Story’ Convention,” Jones said. “This will be your last chance for awhile to see the actors and revel in the all the events of the convention weekend. We have pulled out all the stops to make this year's convention that much more memorable.”
For more information on “A Christmas Story” 25th Anniversary Celebration & Convention,” including a schedule of events, hotel packages and convention tickets, visit www.AChristmasStoryHouse.com.

"Mark Klaus' Hollywood Christmas Movieland"

Presented by Lolly the Trolley

Yes, that’s really his name! Mark’s passion for all things Christmas combined with his skills as a master sculptor, Christmas Ornament creator and set designer creates an attraction for all ages.

This walk-through series of professional displays will feature hundreds of authentic props, costumes and production still photographs, with special video excerpts from many of your favorite Christmas movies including “The Grinch That Stole Christmas”, “Elf”, “Jingle All The Way”, “Santa Claus: The Movie” and many others. This is the only place you will see the 16’ tall Grinch sleigh! You will also see toys from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s in the “I had that toy!” exhibit. Nostalgia reigns when you look at vintage toy commercials, old TV specials and a 1960’s era Mold-A-Rama toy machine that will make you a toy right in front of your eyes! And to top it all off, it might even be snowing inside the building!! Our return to the Powerhouse will take us through the magical annual lighting display in Independence, Ohio as an added treat.

The Tradition Continues!

The Holidays are upon us and the Inn is excited about again finding homes for our misfit bears.  In true Inn style every gift basket delivered during the Holiday season will have a "Inn Misfit Bear" included.

The misfit bear tradition started over 9 years ago as a way to find a home for all the stuffed bears that had found a home in the Inn.  You could say there was no more "Bear Room" in the Inn.  Soon the bears all found loving homes.  But, the story does not end there.  Suddenly more bears started arriving at the Inn, showing up in boxes, in the mail, by any means they could, all homeless.  And of course always hungry! But now through the give a bear a home program the Inn's misfits will once again find loving homes to share their softness and joy too.

We want to thank all the recipients of prior misfit bears and thank you for opening your homes to these wonderfully overstuffed bundles of joy.  Hunter the English Lab also thanks you as they have started invading his space.

To guarantee a misfit bear, please order early!

HOLIDAY TRADITIONS
(Submitted by our readers)

When we were growing up our parents would have all the crazy relatives over and we couldn't wait until they were gone.  Our grandfather would always serve a Hungarian smoked sausage.

Pork and sauerkraut for good luck in the coming year,  it's our German family tradition.

When I was growing up we would always have seafood Christmas Eve and ham Christmas Day.

Christmas Caroling and Hot Chocolate by the fire when we got home.

We used to always go to see lights at a private home in Cleveland.  They were unbelievable.

Watching Miracle of 34th Street (original version)

Waiting to see the end of the Macy Day Parade knowing Santa was coming and we could eat dinner.
